Children’s Sunday School – Raising our Children in Christ

But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and don't prevent them. For of such is the kingdom of heaven."   Matthew 19:14

Calvary's Sunday School is a place where children and youth can come to have fun learning about Jesus and the Bible.  The dedicated teachers and helpers provide a loving and friendly Christian environment.  The lessons include Bible stories, music, and activities designed to introduce children to Christian principles and the Lutheran tradition – while building a foundation for lifelong faith.

The Sunday School hour is from 9:15 - 10:15 am every Sunday during the school year.

Calvary’s Baptismal Journey is a part of the Sunday School curriculum and provides specific age appropriate opportunities to grow in faith.  They include:

Two-year-olds                   Baptismal Encouragement- Baptism of Jesus

Three-year-olds                Blessing at start of Sunday School

Four-year-olds                  Receiving of a Prayer Pillow

Five-year-olds                  Child of God

First Grade                      Receive first Bible

Second Grade                 Recite the Lord's Prayer

Third Grade                     Acolyte training and installation

Fourth Grade                   Receive First Communion

Fifth Grade                      Step in Stewardship

Sixth Grade                    Social Ministry project

Seventh Grade                Begin confirmation, Global Vision

Eighth Grade                  Confirmation classes; Confirmation
Senior High                     Ethics and Morality
Twelfth Grade                  Service of Godspeed
